Case Management Services
When you are suffering from a life-threatening ED it is imperative that you learn to advocate for yourself. The Elisa Project provides skills training that teaches you self-advocacy techniques that helps you find your own voice. A voice that is required to navigate your journey to recovery successfully.
The ED system is extremely complicated and complex. From dealing with insurance companies to learning the ED vernacular, when in crisis or deathly ill, the ED system becomes so intimidating and difficult to navigate, many give-up and/or lose the will to fight and get well. TEP provides crisis intervention and education to help you learn about ED in a safe and supportive environment, while remaining engaged to answer questions and make suggestions based on your individual needs.
Eating disorders are complex and intimidating. For people who do not suffer from ED it is difficult to understand and help a loved-one who is ill. We provide information sessions to educate caregivers, so that you can learn and ask questions about the disease in a safe and supportive environment. Information and knowledge about ED allows you to be a knowledgeable and patient caregiver throughout your friend or loved-ones road to recovery. We are here for you, from helping draft emails to becoming an integral part of the recovery team on a journey to health and wellness.
TEP has an exhaustive list of ED professionals from around the country. For 15 years, we have collected information on doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, social workers, dieticians and other professionals who have experience in treating ED. Due to the complex nature of ED, not just any professional can successfully treat eating disorder illnesses. We have unfortunately experienced professionals unintentionally doing more harm than good, because they do not have the appropriate ED expertise. We have unique knowledge of partial hospitalization programs, residential treatment centers, intensive outpatient programs, research projects, doctors, counselors, etc. Our extensive database allows us to focus on your specific needs no matter what resources you may need. Our ability to navigate accessing care is superior, and we work until the treatment and help is found.
When you call on TEP for help you receive individualized assistance. Every case plan is different. Some clients have insurance, but the insurance doesn’t cover ED, some clients have Medicaid or Medicare so a single-case agreement is necessary for the client to obtain treatment, and sometimes clients have nothing. Generally, our indigent clients have no job because they’re too far into their illness. They may have lost their home, family and anything that mattered to them, and have no resources left, due to their life-threatening illness.
TEP helps you design an action plan so you obtain the care and treatment necessary to heal and recover. From starting crowd-funding account to assisting with Medicaid/Medicare applications, TEP is committed to doing whatever must be done to assist you in obtaining the resources you require to heal.
